Q: How much notice do I have to book in a Furniture Removal?

A: Prefer 3 to 4 days prior the move but we can arrange last minute jobs for the same day or next depending on our work load. 

Q: What should I do if my moving date changes? 

A: Please send us an email. This shouldnt be a problem as long as we are not fully booked on the changed date.

Insurance

Q: Do you provide insurance?
 
A: Here at Easy Move Furniture Removals we hold Insurance covers for the following:
  • Public Liability
  • Carriers Liability
  • Full Commercial Vehicle Insurance

Q: Do I need to take insurance?

A: To ensure your belongings are as safe and secure as possible it will be a good idea to have insurance as being transported on a truck does have risks.

Hours

Q: What happens if I go over an hour for moving?

A: We charge to the nearest 15 minutes after the 1st hour.

Q: How long does it take to move house locally?

A: As you can imagine, every household has more or less items. 

So you can get an idea for a standard household with good access.

1 bedroom takes around 1 hour
2 bedrooms 2 hours
3 bedrooms 3 hours

 

With 3 bedroom houses or more we do recommend 3 men.

Q: How long does it take to load and unload the Moving Truck on a Long Haul Move?

A: To get an idea on loading and unloading times with a standard household and good access with 2 men.

1 bedroom takes around         1.0 hour to load       1 hour to unload
2 bedrooms 1.0 -   1.5 hours load       1 hour to unload
3 bedrooms 1.25 - 2.0 hours load 1.0 - 1.25hrs unload
4 bedrooms 2.0 -   2.5 hours load 1.5 -   2.0hrs unload

 

Q:  Do you work on a weekend?

A:  We operate 8.00am to 5.00pm -7 days a week.

Packing Service

Q: What Packing Supplies do I need to pack my house?

A: Please click here to see the Packing Supplies we recommend for different sized households varying from Studio Apartments to large households.          

Q: Do you have a Packing Service?

A: Yes we have a Packing Service. We can also arrange packing materials to be delivered to your door within 2 working days at $15 shipping.

Q: What Packing options do you offer?

A: You can pack your belonging yourself or we can pack some or all of your items. We can also unpack your items at your new address.

Q: Do you provide Packing Advice?

A: Yes we do. Please check out our information in our blog posts.

Q: Do I need to empty my drawers for moving?

A: Clothing and none breakable items are fine to be left in the drawers, but please remove any delicate or breakable items.

Q: How do I pack my Fridge Freezer?

A: Moving locally the fridge is usually the last item that goes on the truck and is the 1st item to come off.

The fridge needs to wait for at least 1/2 an hour for the gas to settle before turning the fridge on at the new address.

Please have all the food from the fridge removed. Frozen food in the freezer can stay in the freezer if it is going to be used at the new address.

Q: Will the Moving guys unpack for me?

A: Yes the Moving guys can unpack your items for you. Please let us know before the move that you will like this service done for you. 

Q: Will the Moving guys dismantle and re-assemble my bed and furniture?

A: Yes the guys can do this service. Please let us know before the move that you will like this service done.

Payment

Q: When do I need to make the deposit?

A: The deposit will be sent out 7 days before your move.

Q: What payment methods do you accept for Furniture Moving?

A: We accept cash, internet Banking or online banking from the invoice. 

Clients going into storage we accept cash at the agreed amount before going into the storage unit.

Service Areas

Q: What areas do you service in New Zealand?

A: We service as far as Cape Reinga to Wellington and everywhere in between in the North Island. We can move you inter island to places like Waiheke Island and Great Barrier Island or the South Island.

Local Moving in Auckland  is based in 50kms from Auckland CBD.

Example: Areas such as Orewa, Pukekohe, Maretai and Piha will have a 1/2hr travel cost added to the hourly rate.

Storage

Q: Can you provide temporary storage if I need it?

A: Secured storage facility available in a safe, dry and monitored location in Auckland and Tauranga.

Q: Can I leave the paddlock or paddlock key with the guys to lock/unlock my Storage Unit.

A: No, we do need you onsite if we are putting furniture into the Storage Unit. Paddlocks and paddlock keys is not the guys responsible to hold on to or post back to you in the mail. If the Storage Unit has been arranged with the Storage Company to open the storage unit for the guys and you will be on the other end that will be fine.

Trucks

Q: How will I know if my furniture will fit on the truck?

A: You can use the Load Size Calculator which will workout roughly the cubic meter for your move.

Q: What cannot go onto the Furniture Moving Truck?

A:  We cannot take the following

Animals Car Batteries
Charged scuba tanks Fertilizer 
Flammable liquids Fish tanks with fish inside
Guns and Ammunition LPG Bottles, Petrol or Fuel. 
Oil Paint
Poisons  
   

 

Marble - Granite or Slate unless crated for transport

Q: What should I say to my Neighbours?

A: Let them know that you are moving so if they need to move there cars or need to trim a tree it is sorted before the truck turns up on the day.

Weather

Q: What happens if it is raining when moving house?

A: It will be a great idea to be prepared for rain on the moving day with the following.

  • Clean towels - to wipe down the furniture at the new address.
  • Tarpaulins - which the Movers can use to cover furniture from A to B.
  • Waterproof clothing. Just in case.
  • Large roll of plastic or old blankets - to protect the carpet and flooring.

Moving in the rain is not fun but the Movers will make sure to be extra careful in such conditions.
